CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG, IS ST. PARTICK'S DAY MARCH 17TH OR DID THEY CHANGE IT TO ST. PATRICK'S MONTH. THERE WAS A ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE IN ROCKAWAY ON SAT WHICH WAS MARCH 1ST. A HORSE AT PARADE BROKE FREE AND INJURED THREE PEOPLE. THESE PARADES ARE AN EXCUSE TO DRINK AND OFTEN FIGHTS AND OTHER BAD OCCURANCES HAPPEN AT THESE PARADES. LET'S KEEP THE PARTY TO THE 17TH. MAYBE THAT WOULD AVOID SOME PROBLEMS THAT ALWAYS SEEM TO SPRING UP WHEN ALCOHOL IS INVOLVED.

the reasson for many parades is so different neighborhoods with alot of irish desendents can enjoy all the different pipe & drum bands,the many folk dancing groups and so all the fraternal orders can proudly march ....its good for local businesses and yes,alot of people get F'd up on the piss
