ROBBERIES IN SLOPE
READ OF A FEW ROBBERIES IN SLOPE LATELY, THIS UPSETS ME! I'M NOT NAIVE AND I BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK ONCE OR TWICE.AND NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE THERE WILL BE CRIME,BUT WITH HOW MUCH CONDOS AND RENTS ARE GOING FOR,LETS SPEND A FEW BUCKS ON CAMERAS.MAYBE IT WILL DETER SOME OF THE MUGGINGS GOING ON.IN AN AREA WHERE ALMOST ALL HOMES ARE GOING FOR WELL OVER A MILLION DOLLARS,ITS A SHAME YOU HAVE TO BE AFRAID TO PUT OUT THE GARBAGE.

The new property owners of Park Slope do not want the publicity that there are these crimes in Park Slope. About 6 months ago there was a segment on WNYC radio about this problem and people from Park Slope called to berate the guest (who wrote an article on the subject)about publishing this information because they are upset that their property values will go down. So, instead of trying to protect their community and face the problem, they rather walk in the middle of the street late at night so that their bottom line is not damaged. This is flawed bogus thinking.
